The new issue of Mojo Magazine has an interesting eight
page article on the last days of The Jam - including interviews with all three
members - which prompted me to trawl YouTube looking for footage I’ve not seen
for a long time. So much to enjoy in this clip as the band prepare for a gig at
Newcastle City Hall in 1980.

any idea what this is from? A larger documentary? Some aspects are rough but it's well-edited at the same time...
ReplyDeleteI think this is the complete feature. It was taken from a Tyne Tees arts programme called Check It Out and the gig took place on 28th October 1980. Apart from the general tedium of touring the thing that gets me about it is how very young the audience were.
ReplyDeletegreat find ... I've never seen footage of John Weller that wasn't worth watching...
ReplyDeleteAre they young or did we once look so youthful...
ReplyDeleteGreat footage! Had the pleasure of politely being asked to leave the backstage area of a Jam gig in May 1982 at the Trenton War Memorial on what would be their last US Tour by John Weller, having arrived oo late and missed their sound check. Lovely fella!
