TAARABT'S TOO GOOD FOR YOU - QPR PROMOTION SONG

This was made by the staff at Balcony Shirts, who downed their t-shirt making tools to produce a tribute to QPR’s promotion to the Premier League. Football songs are almost exclusively rubbish, especially if not for your favoured team, but not many sound like The Band and Teenage Fanclub huddled around a barbecue on Shepherd’s Bush Green. I promise this’ll be the last football related post for a very long time, so kindly allow this indulgence. Any involvement by the Raison family is entirely coincidental.

  1. Somehow, we managed to escape the drop again in the last 45 minutes of the season. Pleased for Grazioli - he was hard done by at the start of the season. Haven't paid much attention to who's coming down from the 1st as I thought the confy beckoned.

My dad and uncle were QPR fans, so I still think of Bowles and Rodney.

Still, I can concentrate on the flat racing season now. Having got the National winner, the outsiders who won the 1,000 Guineas and Kentucky Derby as well as Frankel in the 2,000, I'm liking a Godolphin owned outside called Genius Beast if they decide to keep Frankel to a mile. Runs in the Dante Stakes this week. Worth £2 each way for the name alone.

  2. Pleased for Barnet. Did you see Paul Fletcher's blog for the BBC? Was at both QPR/Barnet yesterday and it's a nice piece. Ta for tip!

  3. My behaviour yesterday was a bit like Bob & Terry when they were trying to avoid mention of the England game until they could settle down to watch it on TV. Only in my case it was good news. Didn't even go on the Racing Post website until this morning - was doing sensible things - sowing sweetcorn and runner beans, then watching my Ivor the Engine dvd.
