What a...Monkey, great review of an outstanding gig. What a set of pipes indeed - not a bit diminished after over 50 years in the Business.<br /><br />To those not familiar with Stax, William remains criminally unknown and underrated but for those of us that were lucky enough to see him at the beautifully atmospheric Union Chapel it was a real treat. I had tears of joy when listening to his extended version of Everybody Loves a Winner.<br /><br />I'm really hopeful that, with his new excellent album, his place in the soul firmament is reassessed and that wider recognition of his importance and brilliance will follow.<br /><br />I bumped into his backing singer, Suzie Furlonger (previously an X Factor contestant), prior to the gig and she was very friendly.
